The Error opening flash:update/info (No such file or directory) error message is received on a Catalyst 3750 series switch

Solution #

The error message is received when the archive copy-sw or archive download-sw privileged EXEC command is issued on the stack master to copy the running image from the Flash memory on one stack member to the Flash memory on other stack members.

To resolve the issue, perform these steps:

1. Make sure you are able to ping the TFTP server IP address from the switch.
   
   
2. Verify your TFTP server is working, and if possible, try a different TFTP server.
   
   
3. Remove any old information directory from the Flash.
   
   
4. If the error message still appears, format the Flash and reload the switch. After you format, the switch might boot into ROM Monitor (ROMmon) mode. If the switch boots into ROMmon mode, recover the switch using Xmodem.
